Another WR name is likely to leave the Steelers.

NEWARK, NJ — It’s not likely that the Pittsburgh Steelers will sign another wide receiver they’ve been interested in.

Wide receiver Mike Williams from the New York Jets was one of the teams that the Steelers could have added. Williams’ part would be smaller after Davante Adams joined the Jets.

It looks like trade talks for Williams have pretty much stopped, especially since the Jets beat the Texans on Thursday Night Football. Many people, including Rich Cimini of ESPN and Jeremy Fowler, have said that the Jets seem to want to keep Williams with them.

Cimini wrote, “The Jets are more likely to keep Mike Williams than keep him available for trade.”

Fowler talked about the idea on Sportscenter before Thursday Night Football started.

Fowler said, “The Jets have been willing to trade Mike Williams.” “Williams is willing to make a deal, and people are interested.” But I’ve been told that he’s been getting along well with the coaches for this game. They talked to him a lot. For this game, they want to put an end to all the deal rumours, and he could be the most important part of what they do tonight. He might stay with them if they win and he’s a big part of it.

In Williams’s game, he only caught one pass for six yards and didn’t score any goals. Because Allen Lazard is hurt, the Jets will probably still want to sign him, so the Steelers don’t have a good chance of getting him right now.

Due to a lack of options and the fact that the deadline is coming up quickly, the Steelers will be looking to add someone to the spot before time runs out.
