Alan Shearer criticises Manchester United’s “mess” claims that they lack reverence for Erik ten Hag.
Icon of the Premier League Alan Shearer has been forthright in his criticism of Manchester United’s treatment of Erik ten Hag, prior to criticising the organisation as a whole.
Alan Shearer has condemned Manchester United and accused them of treating Erik ten Hag with disrespect.
Following a review of his performance during the previous season, United have elected to maintain their commitment to Ten Hag as their manager. However, prior to reaching a decision regarding Ten Hag’s future, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS colleagues kept him in the dark for nearly two weeks.
Ratcliffe also conversed with Thomas Tuchel regarding the possibility of replacing Ten Hag. Subsequently, he travelled to Ibiza to inform the Dutchman that his position was secure while he was on vacation with his family. According to the England legend Shearer, United have regarded Ten Hag with contempt and undermined him.
Ten Hag’s position at Old Trafford has been compromised, according to Shearer, as a result of the public handling of the situation. Shearer stated to Betfair, “What a shambles it has been.”
“How empathetic of Manchester United to travel to Ibiza and inform him that he is still being considered for the position of manager, and then to inform him that they have also spoken to other candidates.”
“It is a peculiar situation; it is not the appropriate course of action in football.” If you intend to communicate with other administrators, do so; however, maintain confidentiality. You are prohibited from informing the public.
I am aware that they are now asserting their support for him and encouraging him to continue, but from a personal and human perspective, it is not the appropriate course of action to conduct someone this way.
