It’s official: the goalie has signed his first professional contract at Goodison Park. After turning 17 earlier this month, the Toffees were able to sign Lukjanciks to new terms, which they did.

He agreed to work there for three years, until the end of June 2027. Every year since he was 12, Lukjanciks has been playing for Everton. The Southport goalkeeper was born in Latvia and plays for England’s under-18 team. At the age group level, he has been capped twice, and he has also played for the Young Lions aged 16 and 17.

These four games, Lukjanciks has played four times for Everton under-18s this season. Now, his long-term goal is to take over for Jordan Pickford at Goodison. He told the club website for Everton, “I feel privileged and honored to be given this contact.”

“Everton gave me a lot of chances to show what I can do, learn, and get better. I joined as an Under-12 player from a local team.” I really appreciate it. My final goal is to become number one for Everton and England, so I just want to keep getting better.

Everton’s head of football is sure that Lukjanciks will keep making great progress now that he has signed a new deal. He said, “Douglass is a very good young goalkeeper with a lot of potential, and we’re glad he’s decided to stay with us at Everton for another season.”

“His skills were noticed by England at the Under-18 level, and we’re sure Douglass will keep improving at the club with the help of our great coaches and the other great keepers he can learn from.”
