Liverpool
After Liverpool, Pep Guardiola makes a “incredible” claim that Manchester United could lose three games in January.
Pep Guardiola has been discussing the 1-1 draw between Manchester City and Liverpool, whereas Manchester United may lose three players in the January transfer window.
Trent Alexander-Arnold merited a point for Liverpool after he cancelled out Erling Haaland’s opener with a masterful finish in the second half against Manchester City. The Reds are still in the Premier League championship race with roughly a third of the season remaining, and they have a strong opportunity to solidify that position in the coming weeks.
Arsenal will also be in contention, but Liverpool has viable league games remaining until Christmas, with the more difficult ones (including against the Gunners) taking place at Anfield. There is every reason to believe that Jürgen Klopp’s squad could go on a run, and momentum can rapidly accumulate at this time of year.
The league table is beginning to assume its rightful form. Already seven points separate Manchester United and Liverpool. It appears to have a difficult trip to Goodison Park on Sunday, following a game that appeared to be quite intriguing between Tottenham and Aston Villa.
Pep Guardiola stated that as the game came to a close, Manchester City had no grounds for complaint. Although Liverpool would have been more relieved to earn a draw, he was extremely satisfied with his team’s performance at the Etihad.
“We performed exceptionally well; it was a tremendous effort,” the Manchester City manager told the BBC following the match. “The team as a whole is exceptional.” That is football, and their defense is outstanding. We are incredibly satisfied with our performance, which was phenomenal.
“Liverpool has eight to ten opportunities per game on average, but they only had two.” Without a single complaint or regret, I have nothing. “While they are very happy, we are somewhat less so.”
In January, Manchester United may loose three players.
The Italian website Calciomercato reports that in January, Jadon Sancho could sign a loan agreement with Juventus instead of remaining with Manchester United. Meanwhile, Caught Offside reports that Christian Eriksen may travel to Saudi Arabia.
Tageszeitung of Germany reports that, despite the Frenchman’s dubious injury history, Bayern Munich is reportedly willing to pay $33 million (£26 million/€30 million) to acquire Raphaël Varane. Varane was anticipated to be a game-changer at Old Trafford, but many other acquisitions in his category have failed to live up to expectations.
