It’s possible that everything that could have gone wrong for Everton on Saturday did. It was a terrible afternoon of football that ended in a tie.

Even though Fulham wasn’t great, they were easily the only team that showed up that day. The home team was sluggish, lazy, and careless from the start.

As Sean Dyche watched from the stands, he must have been furious. And when Dwight McNeil got hurt late in the game, his worst fears came true.

Regarding Dwight McNeil’s injury against Fulham, Sean Dyche

When asked about McNeil, the former Burnley winger that he has helped grow throughout most of his career, the Everton boss was tight-lipped.

Besides, it was pretty new, and not much was known right away.

But seeing the 24-year-old player walk straight down the tunnel after being replaced wasn’t the best sign.

Although Dyche tried to give some kind of update, he also laughed about how he was treated while he was trying to make the change.

He stated, “Not yet.” Still not sure, but he had to leave, and you know the wait… As people yelled at me, I thought, “I need to see if he’s going to keep going.” He seemed nervous. Hopefully it’s not something too serious.

The fact that Jarrad Branthwaite came on for McNeil after being hurt was a good sign nonetheless.

Dwight McNeil let Everton down on Saturday.

On Saturday, no one really played that well, but McNeil was especially bad, especially after the quality of play we saw from him earlier in the season in the Premier League.

It’s one thing to not do anything offensively, like losing plays and not making a threat on goal, but his lack of effort at times was scary.

This led to the change in the 86th minute, which actually set them up for the equalizer because Michael Keane and Beto played so well up front together.

The attacking midfielder had only touched the ball 45 times so far, which was only three less than his goalie, Jordan Pickford.

It was an unusually wasteful afternoon for him, as shown on Sofascore, as he failed to complete a single key pass and only hit the target twice out of six crosses he tried.

Even worse, he only had one defensive contact the whole game and was also dribbled past once.

We’ve come to expect a lot more from McNeil, and we hope that his injury isn’t too bad so that he can get back to work quickly to fix what went wrong on Saturday.
