Manchester City
A “regular contact” disclosed that Manchester City has a ready-made replacement for Pep Guardiola.
Manchester City is prepared to replace Pep Guardiola with a suitable candidate in the event that the Spaniard decides to depart from the Etihad.
In addition to establishing himself as one of the finest managers in the history of the Premier League, Guardiola guided City to an unprecedented treble last season.
However, the 52-year-old will not remain with the club indefinitely; upon the expiration of his contract in 2025, he is widely anticipated to leave.
Guardiola may depart prior to that, as an investigation into the club’s possible violation of financial fair play regulations is ongoing. City was served a significant warning by Everton’s 10-point deduction.
However, should the former Barcelona player and manager decide to conclude his tenure with City, Michel Sánchez, who has guided Girona to the top of La Liga, could prove to be the ideal successor.
Real Madrid is three points behind the Spanish side in the standings; this season, Real Madrid has been the league’s unexpected favorite.
Additionally, Quique Cárcel, the sporting director of the club, believes Sanchez is fully capable of replacing Guardiola at the Etihad.
Carcel stated on Friday (as cited by Mundo Deportivo): “[Sanchez] possesses the ability to manage a major club like Manchester City, but he still requires some time to reach this level of bench strength.
City engages in football activities that Míchel, who has a lesser club, is incapable of. However, in order for him to instruct them, considerable coordination is required, including Pep’s departure decision.
“[He] is content in his position on the team, has secured a contract, and is driven to further enhance the project’s success. “He may face different pressures in Girona compared to those he would face on a larger bench.”
Aleix García, a midfielder for Girona, disclosed that Guardiola and Sanchez have had “considerable communication” via their affiliation with City Football Group, the proprietors of both Girona and City.
Garcia explained to the Spanish news outlet AS: “Everyone is aware of Pep, what an exceptional coach he is, and all the championships he has amassed.
“Mache is attempting to gain knowledge from Pep through his extensive contact with the City Group organization.” His conceptions of football are brutal.
“Moreover, the tranquility that accompanies you outside a club like Girona, where things are proceeding smoothly for you, enables you to exhibit your individuality when you are at ease.”
