Basketball
A lot of people think Kentucky will make it to the Final Four.
This year, the SEC is very strong in college basketball. The Kentucky Wildcats want to keep up their good start to the season.
The Cats have now won three top-10 games in the first 14 games of the season, including a huge win over Florida. That’s a pretty great resume, right?
Things are only going to get harder from here on out. That’s why the Cats are getting some attention from the national media for having a great start to the year.
Now that mid-season estimates are out, ESPN is one of the first places to change their Final Four picks. There are still about 17 games left in the regular season. UK is getting some love this time.
One of the writers for the piece, Myron Medcalf, picked the Cats to go to San Antonio along with Tennessee, Auburn, and Duke. He picked Alabama, Kansas, Duke, and Houston before the season.
Even though the Cats only got one pick, the fact that Medcalf added three SEC teams to the Final Four should say a lot about how strong the league is.
Aside from Medcalf, Joe Lunardi also picked Auburn and Florida to make it. Jeff Borzello also thinks the Auburn Tigers will do well.
Even though conference play just started, the Cats will have a lot of tough games ahead of them. Let’s see if they can keep responding when the ball is tipped off against better teams, especially when they’re on the road.
