TRANSFER: West Ham United reawaken interest in signing Man United clutch midfielder

Scott McTominay, a midfielder for Manchester United, is available for transfer this summer. The Times reports that West Ham United is interested in him after a failed offer to acquire him last summer.

The Hammers were interested in the Scotland international last year after he was no longer favoured by manager Erik ten Hag as the 2023-24 season approached.

McTominay, however, was unable to secure a transfer, and he remained with the Red Devils. He established himself as a critical player and appeared in 43 games across all competitions.

The 27-year-old contributed ten goals and two assists prior to his departure for the European Championship, where he scored a goal in three appearances.

McTominay was observed at Carrington on Wednesday, as he has returned to Manchester United for preseason training.

It appears that he is still on the transfer list, and West Ham will attempt to secure his services once more.

Fulham has also been associated with the Man United academy graduate and have already had an offer rejected this summer.

The Craven Cottage club is anticipated to return with a more competitive offer, as the Red Devils are seeking to sell some of their most talented players in order to invest in higher-quality recruitment.

West Ham would be hindered by their intentions, as manager Julen Lopetegui is seeking to improve his squad in anticipation of his inaugural campaign as Hammers’ manager.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the right-back for Manchester United, is also a target for the Spaniard. The former Crystal Palace player is also not receiving favourable treatment under Ten Hag in the future.

The Red Devils are anticipated to sell some players in order to balance the books, as they have signed the Netherlands international forward Joshua Zirkzee and Lille centre-back Leny Yoro. If all goes according to plan, both McTominay and Wan-Bissaka could be sold to West Ham, and additional players could follow them out.
