What we know as Manchester United play behind-closed-door friendly v Hull City

Manchester United hosted Hull City in a friendly conducted behind closed doors, as the international break had just begun and many Red Devils were still present at the club.

As the international break signifies the concluding interval of the year in relation to global football, Erik ten Hag will have the opportunity to witness a selection of the players prior to the resumption of the regular season.

According to Mike McGrath of the Daily Telegraph, the Red Devils engaged in a behind-closed-door match against EFL Championship side Hull City yesterday, as previously stated.

The following is the current state of knowledge regarding United’s match.

McGrath claims that the number of United players absent on international duty provided Ten Hag with an opportunity to observe Antony and Donny Van de Beek’s performance in the side during their limited minutes or struggles.

Antony, the winger, has been insufficient for the Red Devils this season, as evidenced by his recent lackluster performance against Fulham, which infuriated former United defender Rio Fernand.

Van de Beek, a Dutch national, has not participated in a single competitive minute this year and was omitted from the traveling squad that lost 4-3 to FC Copenhagen.

Despite the fact that the former Ajax midfielder appeared for United, it remains uncertain whether this signifies that Van De Beek will compete for Ten Hag’s squad. Having appeared in 21 minutes for the club this season, he is widely expected to depart in January.

The United club’s subpar performance this season has resulted in the exclusion of numerous players who were eligible to play but instead remained on the bench.

A number of players, including Alejandro Garnacho, Sergio Reguilon, and Mason Mount, will remain in Manchester during the international break.

The team’s members improving their fitness is surely not a negative development. Due to Casemiro’s injury sustained while representing Brazil, it is in their best interest to remain with the club.

Ten Hag’s United are no strangers to contests played behind closed doors, having already addressed Barnsley and Burnley earlier this season.

Due to the match being conducted in private, neither Manchester United nor Hull have disclosed the outcome or the individuals who scored.

The United Stand asserts that the match concluded 1-1; however, this assertion is not corroborated.
