The 2024 Community Shield has been verified by the Football Association to occur at 15:00 BST on Saturday, August 10.

Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, will face off against the Emirates FA Cup victors, United, in a match that is widely recognised as the opening of the English football season.

Obviously, this implies a rematch of the FA Cup final from the previous season, in which United convincingly defeated the Blues by a score of two goals to one.

The forthcoming game will be our third Community Shield encounter with City; we emerged victorious in both of the previous two contests, which were held in 1956 and 2011.

The match will be broadcast live in the United Kingdom on ITV 1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player. BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio Manchester, BBC World Service, TalkSPORT, and TalkSPORT International will provide comprehensive radio coverage.

The FA stated that additional information, such as ticketing information, will be disclosed at the earliest possible moment.
Eight years ago, in 2016, the Reds were last involved in the Community Shield. Jesse Lingard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored goals to help us defeat Leicester City.

The trophy (previously known as the Charity Shield) has been lifted uncontested on 17 occasions, and we have emerged victorious in each of our most recent four appearances in the championship game. We have also shared it with other clubs after draws on four additional occasions.
