d’Or rankings for 2023 in October.

Lionel Messi was once again recognized as the world’s greatest player after assisting Argentina in their victory at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, despite the fact that the Citizens secured the Treble.

A pundit has shared his preliminary predictions regarding the players who will be considered for the subsequent award, with one City player being mentioned, as the European Championship is about to commence following the conclusion of another domestic season.

Neville expressed his opinion on the subject in his most recent column for The Overlap newsletter.

He stated, “On Monday, the UEFA team of the season was announced, consisting of the most outstanding players in the Champions League during the 2023-24 season. Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, and Harry Kane were all included in the team.”

“At the conclusion of the year, each of those three will be a contender for the Ballon d’Or.”

Foden has had an extraordinary season.
The 24-year-old played in 53 matches across all competitions this season, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists. He assisted his team in winning the UEFA SuperCup, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the fourth Premier League title in a succession.

Foden, who is presently earning a weekly wage of £225,000 in the Premier League, has scored 19 goals and provided eight assists in 35 games.

This ultimately resulted in the Englishman being dubbed the Premier League Player of the Season.

We concur with Neville’s assessment that Foden, in addition to his two England teammates, should be considered as a potential Ballon d’Or winner, despite the fact that Bellingham won La Liga and the Champions League in his debut season at Real Madrid and Kane scored 44 goals in 45 games in his first campaign at Bayern Munich.
