Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp provides the latest Wataru Endo injury update and return date
Wataru Endo was sidelined with an injury on Thursday against Sheffield United in the Premier League.
Wataru Endo has a “significant possibility” of being ready to attend Sunday’s Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester United, according to Jurgen Klopp.
On Thursday, the Japan international was absent from Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Sheffield United, which was propelled to the summit of the Premier League by goals from Darwin Nunez, Alexis Mac Allister, and Cody Gakpo. Despite this, the German remained optimistic that he would be able to welcome his No. 3 back to Old Trafford in under four days.
“Today, we rested him,” Klopp explained. “We had a hunch that he might have had a chance tonight, but if we leave him out, he has a significant opportunity on Sunday. “That remains unchanged.”
In addition to Endo, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, Alisson Becker, Thiago Alcantara, and Stefan Bajcetic were all absent for Liverpool. However, Curtis Jones and Andy Robertson returned to the field after varying periods of absence at Anfield.
“Absolutely optimistic about the players coming on,” Klopp continued. “Curtis Jones is back, Robbo is back, and Cody Gakpo is not out, but he played an outstanding game that he required. Nobody sustained an injury; recovery has already begun.”
