Reason why Raheem Sterling was substituted during Chelsea vs Burnley draw match (2-2)

Raheem Sterling, who plays for Chelsea, was the subject of a great deal of attention prior to today’s match against Burnley; however, he was placed on the substitute bench for the first game that took place after the interruption for international competition.

At the end of the Premier League match that took place on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea ended up recording a very disappointing draw with Burnley; the score was 2-2.

At the very last second of the first half, the Blues took the lead thanks to a penalty kick taken by Cole Palmer. This kick also resulted in Lorenz Assignon being dismissed from the game. Josh Cullen’s miracle shot, however, brought Burnley, who were playing with ten players, to a 1-1 draw just after the halftime break.

Palmer scored his sixteenth goal while playing for Chelsea in the 78th minute, which allowed the home team to regain the lead. It was unfortunate that Vincent Kompany’s team was able to salvage a point shortly after that with Dara O’Shea’s equalizer, which brought the score to 2-2.

It is a devastating outcome for the team coached by Mauricio Pochettino, who must feel as though they have lost two points after this result.

The response of the fans to the substitution of Raheem Sterling
The fact that Raheem Sterling was placed on the bench this weekend is not something that comes as much of a surprise to us because he was subjected to significant criticism following his performance prior to the international break.

During a recent interview with Mail Plus, Noni Madueke asserted that his teammate Sterling has been subjected to criticism that is both “harsh” and “unfair.”

During today’s match against Burnley, Sterling was brought on as a substitute in the 73rd minute.

Bobby Vincent, a journalist, said that the winger, who is 29 years old, did in fact receive a tremendously great reaction when he was substituted on during the match against Burnley.

The following is a message that Vincent sent through X: “Really good reception for Sterling as his name is announced.”

Following what has been a challenging year for Sterling, we would like to add that we were relieved to see a positive response.

What we seen from Sterling during his cameo appearance against Burnley is a perfect example of who he is because…

Palmer scored his second goal, which appeared to be the game-winning goal, with the assistance of the English attacker.

In spite of this, Sterling missed a golden opportunity to score with a header inside the penalty area just when the score was tied at 2-2 in the last minutes of the contest.

Our best estimate is that the most important thing to take away from Sterling’s game today will be his miss, which means that as of right now, things are not getting any easier for him.

That he would start against Manchester United the next week would come as a surprise to us.
