Main reason Amad was sent off during Manchester United vs Liverpool FA Cup quarter-final match
Winner for Manchester United Amad got a red card for a second offense that could have gotten him in trouble after scoring a dramatic win over Liverpool in extra time.
The Ivorian ran off on a counterattack and shot low into the bottom corner, just inside the post. Before coming back from being behind twice, United lost the lead in the first half.
The 21-year-old took off his shirt as he walked away in front of the Stretford End while celebrating, which got him a second yellow card from referee David Brooks. Soon after he came on, Amad got a yellow card for blocking Liverpool from taking a quick free kick.
He will be able to play in the semi-final against Coventry City, a team from the Championship, but he will not be able to play in the first Premier League game after the international break. United will be back in the Premier League on March 30 when they play Brentford in the capital.
“That was fun. We earned this win today. His words to ITV: “We played very well today.” “I’m very happy because it was one of the best games of the season.”
“I missed the first yellow.” I’m upset about getting sent off, but beating a big team like Liverpool is the most important thing for me.
“Everyone told me, ‘Congratulations, Amad! You deserve this.'” Thank you all.
United had to work hard to get to the last four and will now go to Wembley on April 20 or 21 for the semiűfinal. Scott McTominay scored the first goal by stabbing it home from close range. Just before halftime, Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah scored goals for the guests to put them ahead.
The game went to extra time after Antony, a replacement in the second half, tied it late in the game. Erik ten Hag’s team had to come back from being behind again, though, because Harvey Elliott took the lead back.
