Furious Mauricio Pochettino restrained by Chelsea staff as he screams at ref Anthony Taylor

Referee Anthony Taylor infuriated Mauricio Pochettino following Chelsea’s thrilling stalemate with Manchester City; the Argentine was booked following a furious tirade.

Members of Mauricio Pochettino’s coaching staff were forced to subdue his rage as he bellowed at referee Anthony Taylor in the aftermath of Chelsea’s exhilarating draw with Manchester City.

A turbulent 4-4 stalemate between the Blues and the Premier League leaders was an instant classic in the making. Former City star Cole Palmer equalized the score in stoppage time with a penalty kick, securing a resounding victory.

There was still a significant amount of additional time remaining following Palmer’s goal, and Taylor even extended the allotted eight minutes by three minutes. In the eleven1st minute of the match, Taylor sounded the final whistle, but Pochettino insisted it should have continued for an additional minute.

As a reaction to what Pochettino perceived to be an early final siren, he charged Taylor while yelling and gesticulating angrily at the referee. A video captured the Argentine yelling “What the f***” at the match official.

In due course, two coaching staff members apprehended their irate manager and redirected him from his intended course. Pochettino maintained an irate gaze toward Taylor, the individual who had reserved him despite his objections.

Taylor generated considerable debate during the initial half by awarding City a penalty kick in response to Marc Cucurella’s tackle on Erling Haaland. VAR reviewed the incident, and replays demonstrated that the City forward had initially seized the Chelsea defender.

VAR Jarred Gillet, however, upheld Taylor’s initial penalty decision, and Haaland converted the penalty kick. This infuriated Chelsea, as demonstrated by Pochettino’s finger-wagging and Jamie Carragher’s condemnation of the decision during commentary.
