“I’ll definitely be back at the bench. I would like to come back and coach” – Manchester United owners moves to ‘SACK” Erik Ten Hag and replace him with Zinedine Zidane as two major changes evolve

Man United’s plans for the summer could change a lot if Zinedine Zidane takes over for Erik ten Hag.

Zinedine Zidane’s huge hiring as manager of Manchester United means that the club may have to make two big changes to their deal plans this summer. French news sources say that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have chosen Zidane as their ideal candidate to replace Erik ten Hag before their first full season in charge of football operations.

"I'll definitely be back at the bench. I would like to come back and coach" - Manchester United owners moves to 'SACK" Erik Ten Hag and replace him with Zinedine Zidane as two major changes evolve

“What the heck? Last week, Zidane was asked if he would be interested in teaching again after three years off. He said, “Anything can happen.”

“But right now I’m doing something else,” he said. I’m sure I’ll go back to the bench. I’d like to be a coach again,”

The newspaper Foot Mercato says that Ratcliffe wants to hire Zidane as United’s first manager since becoming a co-owner, since Ten Hag’s second season was poor.

And the 51-year-old’s arrival at Old Trafford could stop two big-name players from going as planned during the next transfer window.

Casemiro is said to be leaving M16 this summer, just two years after moving from Real Madrid to United for £70 million.

Saudi Arabia is interested in the 32-year-old player and is willing to pay a lot of money to get him. United is said to be ready to sell.

Raphael Varane, who also left Real for Manchester United, is also likely to leave because his deal is about to end in June.

United is said to not want to give Varane a raise from his current £340,000-a-week salary, which doesn’t show his importance to the team.

The 29-year-old has been an important player when healthy since he joined for £34 million in 2021, but he has been hurt all the time, making him less available.

Because INEOS needs to pay for much-needed team changes, selling Varane and Casemiro would bring in millions of dollars right away.

But both of them were very important to Zidane’s winning ways when he was manager of Real Madrid for two terms. From 2016 to 2018, they led Los Blancos to three straight Champions League titles.

Casemiro played 205 times at the Santiago Bernabeu, more than any other player under Zidane except for Karim Benzema (217) and Toni Kroos (208).

Luka Modric played 202 games over six seasons, while Varane played 192. He was the fifth most used player for the French legend.

Zidane could tempt Varane to stay at Old Trafford past the summer by offering him better terms if he were to replace Ten Hag.

Also, Casemiro might not want to take on a new task in the Middle East or somewhere else if he knows that his new boss will put a lot of faith in him.
