Key Man Utd man banned for Everton clash after what happened today

Chris Wheeler reports that Erik ten Hag will be absent from Manchester United’s November 26 travel to Goodison Park to face Everton due to a booking he received in the victory over Luton Town.

On 11 November, a correspondent from the Daily Mail reported via Twitter that the promoted side was defeated by the Dutchman’s squad by a narrow 1-0 margin at Old Trafford, thanks to a goal from Victor Lindelof.

A one-match suspension is imposed on him for his third caution of the season; it will be served against the Toffees on the opposite side of the international break.

On the same day, Everton defeated Crystal Palace 3-2 under the leadership of Sean Dyche’s squad on three separate occasions; consequently, the club will return to training in a fortnight filled with assurance.

Given Manchester United’s current state of turmoil and the fact that the Toffees are in some of their most impressive play since over two years, there appears to be a chance for Dyche’s squad to capitalize by the end of the month.

Those opportunities could have been further enhanced had the visiting manager been unable to oversee the match, as his squad appeared to be in disarray during a three-in-five-game losing streak.

At Selhurst Park, the Everton defense was peculiarly lax, as errors by Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski betrayed their recent form and led to goals.

However, despite two equalizing setbacks, the team persisted, and despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin failing to score, his comrades scored three goals to secure the points.

After a first-minute header by Vitalii Mykolenko, another goal by leading scorer Abdoulaye Doucouré, and an unlikely winner from Idrissa Gana Gueye, Everton have now suffered only one loss in their last six matches, with four victories in that span.

At present, United lead in the Premier League standings by seven points. However, the Toffees will be optimistic about their prospects of closing that distance at Goodison at the end of the month, as confidence has finally returned to the squad.
