DUNK KING MORANT’s PLEA: Ja Morant’s Insane Slam Have Fans Begging For 2026 NBA Dunk Contest Return!

The 2026 Dunk Contest is something that Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has contemplated. Last season, he made it clear that he still dunks.

Even though he prefers to layups over spectacular dunks in game, NBA fans do catch a glimpse of one every so then.

And when he’s not competing in Slam Dunk Contests, Morant is putting on a show over the offseason; a video of his most recent, spectacular reverse dunk has gone viral.

Morant reportedly dunks the ball while in mid-air after throwing it for a high bounce, as seen on his Instagram.

This is most likely a 50; if not, it’s close to what Ja Morant would receive if he did this in next season’s Dunk Contest. The Grizzlies have had a busy summer, extending All-Star Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama to long-term deals and trading Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Cole Anthony, and four first-round picks.

The Grizzlies added Caldwell-Pope to their potential draft selection inventory this offseason, as they entered the offseason with a dearth of such assets.
Ty Jerome, who was a Sixth Man of the Year candidate for the Cleveland Cavaliers previous season, and Jock Landale were also signed by the Grizzlies. With Morant and Jackson Jr. at the helm, head coach Tuomas Iisalo will oversee a retooled squad following the Grizzlies’ official removal of Taylor Jenkins’ interim designation.
