Greg Byrne, the athletic director for the Crimson Tide, made the Crimson Tide’s first revenue share strategy very clear.
The House vs. NCAA settlement states that college athletic programs will get $20.5 million to disperse among players. With $2.5 million in new scholarships offered by all SEC institutions, according to Byrne, Alabama has $18 million to disburse to its athletes. According to Byrne, the percentage will be highest for football and men’s basketball, then for the other ticketed sports (baseball, softball, gymnastics, and women’s basketball).
Approximately $13.5 million, or 75% of the total player compensation, will be earmarked for football by the majority of SEC institutions.
So, how much money would the Crimson Tide football team have for each position? Based on the budgets assigned to each set of football positions by OpenDorse, a NIL technology business and athlete marketplace, this prediction is based on NIL compensation data.
