The city of Memphis in Tennessee — As part of their latest legacy project, the Memphis Grizzlies have transformed the recreation room of STREETS Ministries into the Grizz Den Rec Room.
This will provide Memphis youngsters with a safe, lively, and inspiring place to hang out. A community investment legacy project with STREETS Ministries, a nonprofit that helps students achieve academic, spiritual, and physical success, was established by the Grizzlies as part of their continued aim to leave a lasting legacy in Memphis.
In May and June, the Grizzlies completely renovated the organization’s leisure area.
They added new carpeting, improved lighting, updated electronics, gaming consoles, charging stations, arcade games, and comfy new tables and chairs.
At a ribbon-cutting ceremony presided over by Jarvis Greer of Grind City Media, Grizzlies centre Jay Huff and former Grizzlies player Tony Allen were among the notable attendees, who also included youth from STREETS Ministries and important members of the community.
The freshly restored area was offered for the youth participants to enjoy refreshments and games after the reveal.
The goal of the Grizzlies’ Legacy Projects is to improve local communities in a way that will last for generations. Recreation areas, basketball courts, libraries, and technology rooms are common targets for renovation and revitalisation efforts like these, with the goal of improving community health, education, and wellness.

By attending to the emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical well-being of each student, STREETS aims to engage, encourage, and equip disadvantaged adolescents.
The main means by which this is accomplished are through after-school programs, summer camps, mentorship programs, and the STREETS Smart Elementary Literacy Program. Nearly 300 middle and high school students are helped every day by STREETS, who offer them chances and resources to help them achieve academic, spiritual, and physical success.
