KYRIE IRVING DROPS BOMBSHELL ON MAVERICKS FUTURE: What’s Next for the Star Point Guard?

The nine-time All-Star feels the Mavericks faithful have reason to be ecstatic.

A crucial decision regarding Kyrie Irving’s future with the Dallas Mavericks is a contract that is approaching.

While he was set to sign a five-year contract before to his ACL tear in March, he now has a player option worth around $43 million for the upcoming season. Despite the injuries, he maintains significant leverage because to the mounting pressure to win in Dallas.

No matter what happens, Irving will return to Dallas; what is uncertain, though, is the length and cost of his stay.

He appeared on NBA TV’s pregame program for Game 7 of the NBA Finals while recovering from ACL surgery, and he delivered a powerful message regarding the franchise.

“It’s an exciting time to be a Dallas Maverick. It’s an exciting time to be a Dallas Mavericks fan.

Shoutout to MFFL, all the supporters that have been rocking with us. Getting this number one pick, we had a 1.8% chance. So, I loved it, I enjoyed seeing all the excitement, not only from the city, from our executive leadership, from our ownership group, and from my teammates.

“This is one of those times in, not only in my career, but just in the legacy play of being a Dallas Maverick where we have a chance to do something special.

So, I know Nico [Harrison], Patrick [Dumont], and Mark [Cuban] are going to do a great job. I know they’ll do a great job.”

“It’s been an exciting journey thus far, even just being in Dallas.

It’s been up and down, just in terms of the circumstances and situations but we’ve been doing our best, I’ve been doing my best, and I’m one of the leaders of the team, so I gotta stay stoic, stay poised, ready for the moment, ready to articulate what’s going on, and be ready to move forward.”

That doesn’t sound like someone who plans to leave Dallas. Everyone has assumed he’ll be a Maverick for a while, and he seems up to the task.

With him back, the Mavericks could field a formidable team alongside Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson, Derrick Lively II, Cooper Flagg, and others.
The only catch is that they all need to remain healthy, which has been a major problem for this squad.
