The entire college football world takes notice when a highly-regarded quarterback re-commits from a national powerhouse such as Oklahoma.
The current situation is a direct result of Jaden O’Neal’s announcement that he is quitting the Sooners.
The gifted quarterback has naturally attracted interest from numerous programs. It has been stated that Mike Norvell’s commitment is being pursued by Florida State in the most aggressive manner.
A new quarterback might be joining the Tallahassee Jaguars shortly if their progress continues.
Jaden O’Neal Draws Interest From Florida State After Oklahoma Decommitment
Before announcing his decommitment, O’Neal had been committed to the Sooners for nearly a year. The Mustang (OK) standout confirmed his new decision on Thursday through a social media statement, shortly after an official visit to Florida State.
O’Neal said in his announcement, “When I committed to OU nearly a year ago, I felt a genuine connection to the program.
I was recruited by coach Seth Littrell, and I believed in the vision and support I felt from the entire Sooner family. More than just my talent or skill set, I appreciated how the staff respected me for who I am and for the values my parents instilled in me.”
The 247Sports Composite ranks O’Neal as the fourteenth best quarterback prospect and the two hundred and fiftyth best overall prospect. He made his initial commitment to play at Oklahoma under Seth Littrell’s offensive coordinatorship.
But O’Neal figured it was time to look elsewhere after coaching changes at Oklahoma brought in Bowe Bentley, another quarterback being pursued by the program.
The Seminoles have taken the lead, says Steve Wiltfong. In his conversation with Jaden O’Neal’s camp and other sources that spent time with him in Tallahassee this week, he mentioned that Florida State is currently the program that Jaden O’Neal is most interested in. Also, I still think he’ll be making an official trip to Oklahoma this coming weekend.
A return trip to the Sooners’ campus will reveal the outcome. However, at the moment, Florida State is riding high on Jaden O’Neal.
