SHOCKING! As Newly committed Florida Star Suprisenly visits Lincoln

Tedarius Hughes, who had earlier visited Lincoln and explored the campus, was a pleasant surprise for the Nebraska Cornhuskers this week.
Hughes had previously committed to the Florida State Seminoles.

Originally from Miami Northwestern High School, he is a 2026 prospect. Before traveling to Lincoln, 6-3, 180-pound Hughes kicked the Seminoles’ tires again in Tallahassee.

On Friday, he also intends to pay a visit to the Syracuse Orangemen. On3, Hughes—who played for Northwestern and was coached by NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater last year—is rated as the number twenty-three safety and number thirty-three player in Florida.

With six commitments so far, Nebraska’s 2026 class is ranked 61st in the country and 18th in the Big Ten.

When it comes to recruiting Hughes, Nebraska is in a race with former Cornhuskers coaches Tony White and Evan Cooper.

The FSU staff of Mike Norvell now includes Cooper and White. Cooper will be assisting secondary coach Patrick Surtain, Sr., who was a local coach in Hughes’s home county of Broward, Florida. C.J.

Bronaugh, a four-star defensive back who had previously committed to Nebraska, is now being actively recruited by Surtain and Cooper.

Surtain and Cooper make for a formidable recruiting tandem, especially considering the secondary players they’ve signed, such three-star Sean Johnson and four-star Darryl Bell III.

This might continue throughout the fall, giving Nebraska a shot at swaying Hughes, whose alleged commitment to FSU is in jeopardy due to his busy schedule.
