Texas Daily: 2025 Women’s College World Series (WCWS) Strengthened Title Defense Returnee Samantha Lincoln announces she’s committed, rivals confused on …

In a move that solidifies Oklahoma’s dominance in college softball, two-time NFCA Pitcher of the Year Samantha Lincoln has announced her return for the 2025 season, shocking rivals and bolstering the Sooners’ bid for another national title. Lincoln, who led Texas Tech to its first-ever WCWS finals last season, confirmed her transfer to Oklahoma, reuniting with head coach Patty Gasso in a blockbuster move.

Samantha decision comes after a historic 2025 campaign where she posted a **0.90 ERA** and 33 wins, including a legendary performance against OU in the WCWS semifinals. Her return—paired with Texas Tech already stacked roster—makes the Sooners the undisputed favorites for 2026.

“I came to Texas to win championships, and we’re not done yet,”Samantha said in a statement. “This team has the talent and drive to make history again.”

Rival programs, particularly OU and USC, now face an even steeper climb to challenge OU’s dynasty. With Samantha in the circle and Texas explosive offense returning key players, the Trxas appear unstoppable. The 2026 WCWS may already have its frontrunner.
