Mo Salah believes that the Andre Trindade substitute already acquired by Liverpool is outstanding.
According to reports, Fulham are the frontrunners to acquire Andre Trindade from Fluminense, a summer target of Liverpool.
Kylian Mbappe, among others, is already included on this roster, which also includes Julian Brandt, Nabil Fekir, Thomas Lemar, and Ousmane Dembele.
Andre Trindade could now be added to the list of players that Liverpool failed to acquire despite widespread public demand.
The Reds, who pursued the midfielder during the summer transfer window, seem to have relinquished interest in him as January approaches. Since August, when Fluminense refused to sell Andre, factions of supporters have followed his development closely and devised strategies for him to integrate at Liverpool.
However, it appears that Kopites will be observing Andre in the Premier League against Fulham. According to multiple reports, the Cottagers are heavy favorites to acquire the 22-year-old during the winter transfer window as a possible Joao Palhinha replacement.
There will be those who find it incomprehensible that Liverpool did not compete with Fulham for Andre. The situation in the defensive midfield position remains unresolved following the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in the summer, and Andre, despite having won the Copa Libertadores and being a full Brazil international, is still several years away from reaching his peak.
After being rejected by Fluminense, the Reds subsequently acquired Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch, which may be one reason for their apparent failure to rekindle interest. Additionally, Jurgen Klopp will be keenly conscious of the fact that obstructing the pathway for Stefan Bajcetic is not an option.
It is simple to overlook the fact that Liverpool have an adolescent who was promoted to the first team within the past year. Bajcetic is presently sidelined following adductor surgery performed in March. Although he briefly resumed his fitness regimen in September, the Reds are adamant that they will not hurry him back.
Regardless, the Spaniard, who was acquired from Celta Vigo in December 2020, demonstrated his promising future last season. Bajcetic completed a cumulative sum of 19 appearances prior to a setback that impeded his progress.
In all honesty, he is capable of commanding the No. 6 position at Anfield if he so chooses. In that capacity, he was elevated above Fabinho for a time during the previous campaign. Bajcetic was among the few players who emerged with any acclaim despite Liverpool experiencing what appeared to be their lowest point in a post-Christmas decline, as they were defeated humiliatingly by Wolves, Brentford, and Bournemouth.
Even so, he was given the start in Liverpool’s first-leg Champions League quarterfinal defeat to Real Madrid. The decision to disqualify him from the reverse tie at the Santiago Bernabeu was a devastating setback.
Undoubtedly, Mo Salah and Henderson lauded Bajcetic’s performances throughout that tenure. After Everton’s 2-0 victory, Salah remarked, “He is an outstanding individual and player who strives diligently.” “Since he began playing for us, he has perhaps been our best player; therefore, we hope he maintains that confidence and continues to perform.”
“Extremely amazed. Henderson further stated, “Since his induction into the team, he has been exceptional.” “Over the last few weeks, even though the performances haven’t been great, he has been the one that has probably stood out and performed to the levels he is capable of.”
Considering Klopp’s readiness to utilize Bajcetic in crucial matches during the previous season, it is plausible that he was positioned as the primary defensive midfielder for Liverpool this campaign. Prior to Saturday’s travel to Manchester City, there is undoubtedly some disagreement regarding who should be entrusted with the responsibility of defending the team.
Even though Alexis Mac Allister has portrayed the character for the majority of the campaign, his shortcomings have been especially exposed away from home. Whether or not he possesses the defensive prowess to stifle a formidable City attack would raise concerns.
Conversely, Endo emerges as the more logical successor. However, since joining Liverpool from Stuttgart, the Japan international has made only two Premier League appearances and is still adjusting to Klopp’s system and demands.
Bajcetic, who is 19 years old, is three years younger than Andre. Despite not being a Liverpool player at the moment, he embodies the type of individual the recruitment team would seek out.
