Noles Land Elite QB Talent as Uiagalelei Eyes Championship Run in TallahasseeAnother Major Win for FSU’s Historic Season!
DJ Uiagalelei Transfers to Florida State, Eyes Championship Run. Florida State football has landed a major addition for the 2024 season as former Oregon State quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has officially committed to the Seminoles. The transfer gives FSU an experienced and talented signal-caller as the program looks to build on its recent success and compete for a national title.
Uiagalelei, a former five-star recruit, began his career at Clemson before transferring to Oregon State in 2023. With the Beavers, he threw for 2,638 yards, 21 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions while leading the team to an 8-4 record. His strong arm, mobility, and leadership make him an ideal fit for head coach Mike Norvell’s high-powered offense.
“I’m excited to join Florida State and compete at the highest level,” Uiagalelei said. Coach Norvell’s system is explosive, and this team has everything it takes to win a championship. I can’t wait to get to work with my new teammates.”
The Seminoles were already considered a preseason contender after a 13-1 campaign in 2023, but Uiagalelei’s arrival solidifies them as a legitimate playoff threat. He joins a roster loaded with talent, including returning stars like running back Lawrance Toafili and wide receiver Hykeem Williams. His experience—having played in big games at Clemson and Oregon State—will be invaluable for FSU’s title push.
Uiagalelei’s transfer also marks another major win for Florida State athletics, which was recently crowned the nation’s top all-sports program in 2025. The Seminoles are the only school this year to win a national title (women’s soccer), reach the Men’s College World Series, make the NCAA basketball tournament, and compete in a bowl game. Adding a quarterback of Uiagalelei’s caliber only strengthens FSU’s reputation as a powerhouse.
With spring practice approaching, all eyes will be on how quickly Uiagalelei adapts to Norvell’s system. If he thrives, Florida State could be on the verge of its most exciting season in years. For Seminole fans, the future just got even brighter.
