If Tadej Pogacar and everyone else enters Vuelta a España 2025, Enric Mas says, “I hope to finish what I’ve been trying to do for a long time.”
Last night in Madrid, Enric Mas was the star of the Movistar Team introduction. He talked about his main goals for the season, which are to win the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, as well as his plans and schedule for the 2025 season.
“It’s an extra motivation, apart from that this year Eusebio and everyone have signed a lot of young riders who are doing very well, especially Pablo (Castrillo, ed.) who had a great Vuelta and a great season and hopefully he will help me a little bit.”
He says that riding in the Tour de France and the Vuelta is what works best for him, so he won’t be riding in the Giro for now: It’s been years since we tried to make things different, but it’s always the same: when July comes around, I feel much better. We have to accept that and move on.” Not changing anything, that’s fine.
So Enric is going for it all, not caring that he might have competitors like Tadej Pogacar next year. He already has four podiums and only wants to wear red on the last day in Madrid in 2025:
There’s no doubt that the Vuelta is my best race. Let’s hope that we can finally finish what we’ve been working on for a long time. Right now we’ll have to wait a little longer to run the Giro because we’re going to do the same thing this year.
Mas will start his season at the Vuelta a Andalucia. He will then race in the Faun Drôme and Faun-Ardèche classics, which are both hilly races where he could try to win. In the spring, the Volta a Catalunya and Itzulia Basque Country will be his main goals. The Ardennes could also be on the list. Later, he will race in the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España to try to get more GC wins.
