Regarding Kentucky basketball, Mark Pope said, “Our Ceiling Is So Much Higher Than Where We Are Now.”
The men’s basketball team for Kentucky is now 10-1; their only loss was on the road against Clemson. The Tigers are one of the best teams in the ACC, and this is their first loss in four games. In this way, it doesn’t really hurt the team’s general path. UK beat Duke and Gonzaga, two top-5 teams, but head coach Mark Pope says this team has so much more to offer and can be so much better.
“When did you know that your team was going to be good?” Pope was asked at his news conference after the Louisville game. With all the parts coming together and now seeing them play at this high level.
“We’re still getting better at it.” When it comes to how we do things and why we do them, our ceiling is so much higher than where we are now. We can grow in so many ways ”
Fans of Kentucky who are already really excited about this team should be very happy about this. This is already one of the best teams in the country. The AP Poll has them at #5, and they keep moving up in all the other polls as well. People think they are one of the best teams in the SEC, but Pope says they can still improve.
There is still room for improvement; the team isn’t always doing its job right or seems a little off. They turned the ball over more times than Louisville did, but they still won. As they say, they are “still learning to play together.” But their skills, speed, and ability to score quickly can make up for it. Things need to keep getting better, though, because SEC play is coming up soon. With a run in the SEC playoffs in Mark Pope’s first season, this team can do something no one saw coming.
