Just In: Not only Tadej Pogacar wants to win Milano-Sanremo in 2025, but Magnus Cort Nielsen also has big plans: “I can get involved in the big one-day races”
Magnus Cort Nielsen of Denmark had a great season in 2024. He won both the Veneto Classic and the Arctic Race of Norway. The rider for Uno-X Mobility recently talked to Ekstra Bladet about his tenth season in the sport and how he only wants to win one thing in 2025.
“I won a one-day race at the Veneto Classic to end the season.” As a rider, you’re not any better than you were before. “These months I’ve really won,” he said.
“That win gave me some hope that I can do well in the big one-day races. If I do win one of them, it will probably be Milano-Sanremo.” That’s it for next year.
The Danish rider is making a big statement, and he’s not the only one who wants to race in Milano–Sanremo next year. In fact, Tadej Pogacar has said that he wants to win that race more than any other in 2025 because it is one of the few he hasn’t won yet.
This is why Magnus Cort Nielsen is sure that the Milano–Sanremo will be his best chance. He has tried his luck on the cobbled races before. He has won stages in every grand tour, including two stages in the Tour de France and six stages in the Vuelta a España. So why not give Milano–Sanremo a shot? We won’t know if the 31-year-old can master the first icon of the year for a few more months.
