A small injury kept Brandon Garrison out of action.
When the Kentucky Wildcats play the Georgia State Panthers at home, one important player from their group will not be there.
Brandon Garrison, a junior centre, was seen in sweats and not doing his normal thing during warm-ups before the game.
Then, on the radio show before the game, head coach Mark Pope said that Garrison would not play because he was sore.
The Oklahoma State transfer has played in six games this season and has averaged 6.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.2 steals in 18.5 minutes per game. He has not started any of those games.
Garrison scored eight points from four out of five shots in Kentucky’s 77-72 win over Duke. He also had four boards, two assists, one block, one steal, and one turnover. He also made a long two-point shot that looked like a three-pointer.
Hopefully, Kentucky is just being cautious in a game they should easily win before next week’s road games against Clemson and Gonzaga.
