Now that November is over, Tadej Pogacar needs to get back to working hard. After travelling to several countries, the UAE Team Emirates rider is now back to training two weeks before the start of the team’s training camp in the Alicante area. He won all the way to the end of the season at Il Lombardia.

In addition to living in Monaco, Pogacar has also spent time back home in Slovenia and in the UAE for funding reasons and to meet the team’s new riders at a small camp. He just finished racing in the exhibition Beking Criterium in Monaco. In an Instagram post today, he talked about many memories from the last month, both with his girlfriend Urska Zigart and at parties and celebrations he’s been to.

“Spent some busy but nice days in Slovenia, Italy and Monaco,” a friend wrote. “Had a great time, thanks to everyone who invited me to different events and activities. I loved every minute, but now let’s get back to work and look forward to next season!” No changes made until next time.

However, Pogacar’s competitors have already been busy… It is said that Jonas Vingegaard started training a month ago and his clear goal is to close the gap to the Slovenian. Remco Evenepoel, on the other hand, recently spent some time at the Specialised headquarters in California, USA, to work on his time-trial bike skills with some wind tunnel sessions.

Pogacar is expected to start his season at the UAE Tour. However, we spoke to UAE’s Joxean Matxin about his goals and learnt that they may include races he hasn’t won yet: “All the races he hasn’t won yet.” There is no question that the Tour de France is important because of what it stands for and how it affects people. So, winning races again is like putting your fist on the table and saying, “Here I am and here I go in races I control.”
