Just In: Alabama finds out it lost $300,000 to Oklahoma, which is disappointing.

The Oklahoma Sooners shocked everyone by beating the No. 7-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday, giving Kalen DeBoer’s team their third loss of the season.

There was no way the Crimson Tide could have played against the Sooners. Brent Venables’s team made it hard for Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe to run the offense.

After making a field goal in the first quarter, Alabama football couldn’t score again and could only gain 234 yards in the whole game. Oklahoma, on the other hand, led 24–3 at the end of the third quarter and hung on to win. To help the Sooners win, running back Xavier Robinson scored two scores on the ground.

It turned out that Sooners fans at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium were very happy about the win. What went wrong, though, was that the Oklahoma fans cheered too soon and ran onto the field with only 28 seconds left.

Still, Oklahoma will definitely get a $100,000 fine for the field-rushing episode. As per AL.com, the Sooners will have to pay Alabama the fine because of the SEC’s competition area entry rules.

David Ubben of The Athletic said that this also means Alabama will have a total of $300,000 saved up from field-storming events.

Following their losses to Vanderbilt and Tennessee, the two teams had to pay Alabama $100,000 because fans had come onto the field to enjoy their teams’ wins.

People would probably rather have the win than the $300,000, even though it’s not a small amount of money.

Fans in Tuscaloosa are used to winning because Nick Saban was the coach there. In 2010, that was the last time the Crimson Tide lost at least three games in a season.
