Manchester United
Antonio Inacio is Amorim’s top goal at Manchester United.
Sacha Tavolieri of Sky Sport says that the new boss of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, has already chosen who he wants to sign in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils had a good defensive record at the beginning of the season, but lately they have had trouble keeping clean sheets. Amorim’s first job will be to strengthen the defense, and Tavolieri says that the star player from Sporting Lisbon, Inacio, is the player that Amorim wants the most.
The well-known reporter also says that Amorim might try to get other players from his old team. Ousmane Diomande is another player who is said to want to move to Old Trafford. United was interested in the Ivorian star during the summer.
Swoop twice
Inacio has become one of the best center backs in Portugal at playing with the ball. Two years ago, he was constantly linked with a move to United. But since he signed a new long-term deal at Sporting, the has died down.
Amorim, on the other hand, says that United could try again next summer to sign him. With the ball at his feet, the 23-year-old is great, and he’s also strong in the air. He mostly walks on his left foot.
Lisandro Martinez is the only left-footed center back that United has, and Amorim may want to add another player to the team. A 3-4-3 formation is expected to stay in place when the 39-year-old takes over United.
It is possible that United will not get a discount on Inacio’s deal after getting Amorim to leave Sporting because his release clause is £50 million. The mid-season exit is sure to make things tough between the teams.
Like Inacio, Diomande has been a surprise in Lisbon while being coached by Amorim. The 20-year-old has done great in the back three, playing with Inacio, and Amorim could ask his old team to make two moves to get him.
In his deal with Sporting, Diomande has a buy-out option worth £67 million. The two new players could make it possible for Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof to leave, since their contracts are up at the end of the season.
Harry Maguire could also be let go, since his contract is up next summer.
