After a painful loss, Insider says Man United “haven’t been honest about Luke Shaw.”
A former top scout for Man United said that the club “hasn’t been honest” about Luke Shaw’s injury problems after he had another setback in his recovery.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over ten years during the team’s most successful time and still has a lot of connections at the club, told Football Insider that fans would understand a lot better if the club explained what was going on.
According to Football Insider, fans want the 29-year-old’s contract to be cancelled because he took another hit after going back to training.
Shaw hasn’t played for United in 260 days, since February 18. In that time, he has made three starts for England.
Having problems with his hamstrings and calves has kept him out of the team. A “calf strain” has kept him out of all 16 games this season.
But Brown has said that he thinks the injuries are related to the left back’s “horrendous” broken leg in a fight with PSV in 2015.
The one-time United chief scout, who has worked with a lot of top-level players, claimed that his recent injury is more serious than a simple calf strain.
After another failure, Man United was told to explain how Luke Shaw got hurt.
In the 24 years since he joined United in 2014, Shaw has been hurt 24 times, missing a total of 254 games and leaving United short on choices.
Now Brown has said that the club is adding more stress to the situation by calling it a “muscle strain” because he has been out for so long.
He told Football Insider, “The club hasn’t been honest about his situation.”
“If we go back, that terrible double leg break he got was a terrible, terrible injury.”
“He did really well to even get back from that.”
‘But he did come back and play, and both Manchester United and England have been very thankful for how well he’s done.
“But this recent stuff with hamstring and calf strains—I’m sure it has something to do with the broken leg.”
“I’m sorry to hear that he’s had another setback.”
“I don’t understand why the club wouldn’t tell the truth.” If it’s something he might never fully get over, I and everyone else would feel very sorry for him.
