As much as I admire Noussair Mazraoui, the Manchester United star was truly amazing against Chelsea; he was rock solid.

The game between Manchester United and Chelsea ended in a 1-1 tie. Neither team was very happy with the point.

Chelsea scored an opener from outside the box, which was a very good goal that got through Manchester United’s defence. Chelsea tied the game after United had been ahead for only four minutes.

Noussair Mazraoui was our star player. He was the best player in our scores from the game.

While Mazraoui deserved all the credit, we think there is another player who deserves extra attention: the player he signed with.

Impressive is Matthijs de Ligt.

Matthijs de Ligt, a centre back for Manchester United, took the blame when he was given a penalty in extra time against West Ham a week ago.

When the teams played Chelsea, De Ligt kept his starting spot and played very well in the 1-1 draw.

Cole Palmer ran at De Ligt inside the box quickly, which put him to the test. The Dutchman was careful not to overcommit, even though he was off balance, and he was able to stop his move.

De Ligt was alert the whole game and tried to close Palmer down whenever he got a chance to shoot.

The striker Nicolas Jackson didn’t get much of a chance because De Ligt and Martinez were working well together, and a back three was about to be switched.

Here are Matthijs de Ligt’s important numbers from the game…

95 percent of the time, you pass.

Sixty touches,

two blocks,

and one interception.

There will be a lot of focus on De Ligt under Amorim.

After leaving Bayern Munich in the summer, Matthijs de Ligt is still getting used to the Premier League, but he is making good progress.

De Ligt has a lot of knowledge, though, and will be very important to the team’s new manager, Ruben Amorim.

De Ligt will get to play a lot even when Leny Yoro comes back from surgery because Amorim likes his teams to play in a 3-4-3 formation.

Since joining United, De Ligt has played 14 times, starting 10 of those games. It was too bad that he didn’t keep a clean sheet in his game against Chelsea.
