Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s first goal against Fulham was called offside, which confused Louis Saha. On Saturday (October 26), Everton and Fulham tied 1-1.

At Goodison Park, the 28-year-old thought he had given Everton the lead when he pounced on Idrissa Gueye’s stunning shot, which hit the crossbar and landed right in front of him.

Even though there were cheers at Goodison Park, the linesman quickly raised his flag. After a VAR check, Sean Dyche’s team had their goal taken away.

Saha said this live on Sky Sports on October 26 at 6:21 p.m.: “He’s unfortunate to be called offside, but it’s a strange one.” From the other side, it looks like he was onside, but he wasn’t.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was again rejected by VAR in the Everton vs. Fulham game.

Calvert-Lewin has been the subject of one controversial decision too many times. Most recently, he was the subject of a penalty decision against Newcastle United during a goalless draw at Goodison Park.

This call doesn’t seem to be as controversial; a view from above clearly shows Calvert-Lewin to be offside when Gueye scores from outside the penalty area.

But from the other view, the striker looks to be lined up with the last defender. This is where the confusion came from.

The offside call was a big disappointment for the Toffees after they played so well in the first half, and even more so after Alex Iwobi scored the first goal.

If Dyche’s team wants to get the Toffees out of the feared relegation zone, they need to start taking chances. A last-gasp point against Fulham is a good start, though.
