A Manchester United teammate is in danger because of Antony’s prize after the latest dismissal.

In their third straight Europa League match, Manchester United drew against Fenerbahce. Antony came on as a replacement instead of fellow winger Amad Diallo.

Erik ten Hag, the boss of Manchester United, said that Antony’s skill in training was the reason why the Brazilian came on instead of the Ivory Coast international on Thursday night against Fenerbahce.

Amad thought that the 2024–25 campaign would be a big one. Ten Hag told him to step up during the off-season, and he showed signs of what he can do when the real season started.

Because Bruno Fernandes was suspended, Ten Hag made the surprising choice to start fullback Noussair Mazraoui in the No. 10 spot against Jose Mourinho’s team. Amad was left on the bench for the trip to Turkey.

Following Youssef En-Nesyri’s equalizer, Ten Hag chose to make several changes. Nash and Casemiro came on first, and then Antony came on to replace Marcus Rashford.

Ten Hag talked about his choice after the game: “Amad, he’s doing well, but I also need to praise Antony’s work in training.” I thought it was the right thing to do to bring him on to decide the game because he is a threat almost every time we train.

Antony wasn’t on the field long enough to make a difference in the game. He only played for about 10 minutes before Amad came on and replaced him. As Amad got ready to come on, he didn’t look very happy.

Amad should still take his chances when he gets them, even though this could hurt his chances of making the team. When a player has a point, it doesn’t bother me when they get antsy about playing time.

Amad definitely needs more chances to work with the team.

Antony was seen using crutches

Ten Hag couldn’t say much about Antony’s injury, but the player was seen leaving the stadium on crutches.

Antony will likely have tests when United get back to Manchester.

Antony won’t be able to play on Sunday when Liverpool plays West Ham in the Premier League.

Because of this, Amad might get a pass.
