Manchester United
“Totally stupid” Manchester United “plan to accept” a bid to sign Ten Hag because they have been “offered” the attacker.
News sources say that Manchester United are ready to consider loan offers for Brazilian winger Antony in January.
During the summer transfer window, Manchester United brought in five players. These were Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui.
Even though they got a lot of new players, Manchester United has had a bad start to the season. Erik ten Hag’s team has only 11 points from eight Premier League games.
Man United is struggling in 11th place in the Premier League, and Erik ten Hag is coming under more and more heat. Their 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday gave him a short break from the rumors, but they are still struggling.
INEOS’s first transfer window hasn’t led to any changes on the field yet, but they have plans to make the team better in the next two windows.
Antony was one of Ten Hag’s first signings in the summer of 2022. The Brazil international is now known as one of the worst players the club has ever had.
The 24-year-old Brazilian joined from Ajax for £85 million, but in 56 Premier League games since then, he has only scored five goals and set up three others.
According to Football Insider, Manchester United will consider loan offers for Antony in January. This is because the former Ajax winger is “no longer a part of Erik ten Hag’s plans at Old Trafford, and the club’s hierarchy are now keen to remove his wages from their bill.”
They might be able to get another attacker, though, because The Boot Room says that Manchester United, Arsenal, and other Premier League teams were “offered” the chance to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Joe Cole, a former Chelsea defender, Antony would do better playing outside of the Premier League because of how “physical” it is there.
“The problem with Antony at Manchester United is that I think he’d be perfect for the Dutch league,” Cole told Paddy Power in September. He probably has trouble with how tough the Premier League is. Although he is a skilled and talented football player, and it was great to see him play well against Barnsley, I don’t think he will make an effect in the United starting lineup this season, and I don’t think he will be able to turn things around at Manchester United.
As for Antony, I believe he is trying to get out of the club, and I believe United will proceed with their plans. He’s not too old, and in a few years he should be at his best, so I think he would do better in another league.
Recently, Dutch reporter Bart Sanders said that he thinks Manchester United would look like “complete idiots” if they gave Antony back to Ajax.
There was some coverage in more serious news outlets about it, but Antony is going back to Ajax on loan… Sanders stated, “I don’t see it happening.”
“From a face-saving point of view, Manchester United will never do this.” Clubs look like total idiots if they pay 100 million euros to sign someone and then rent them back to their old club two years later. How embarrassing is that?!
“He could go to FC Porto, Benfica, or Wolves without any trouble…” Another team is enough. Even though Antony didn’t do well at Manchester United, he did well when Ajax won six Champions League games in a row.
There will be teams that want to rent him because Sporting Portugal is still thinking about it.
