Friedkin, the owner of Roma and Everton, is warned by Ranieri that money is not everything.
Claudio Ranieri, a former coach of Roma, says that the Friedkin family has put a lot of money into the club, but that “money is not everything” because the Giallorossi don’t have a strong head.
Roma is in 10th place in Serie A, and fans are mad at the owners because Daniele De Rossi was fired last month. The fans are even more angry that the bosses won’t talk to them. On Sunday night, fans made their feelings known by leaving the Curva Sud empty for the first 15 minutes of Inter’s Serie A game.
TMW says Ranieri told Radio 1 on Monday morning, “Roma seem to have a cold soul without personality.”
They did something strange with De Rossi that I didn’t get. You let everyone know you are building a new team when you give him a three-year promise. It’s not fair to fire the coach after only four games. You need to give him time.
“Romania doesn’t have a leader.” But the Friedkins are showing that money isn’t everything. You can’t blame them because they put a lot of money into it. From inside the club, they miss a point of reference. It’s hard to say what to say about Roma. The fans need to be helped and encouraged, but right now it feels cold.
Ivan Juric, who took over for De Rossi, has started his six games as manager of the Giallorossi by winning two, drawing two, and losing two.
From American investor James Pallotta, the Friedkin family bought the Giallorossi in 2020. Everton, a team in the Premier League, was bought by the Friedkin Group at the end of September 2024.
