Michael Keane’s play in Everton’s win over Ipswich left Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling speechless.
With a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town on Saturday (19 October), Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling both said nice things about Michael Keane.
Because Jarrad Branthwaite has been hurt, the 31-year-old has been given a chance to start, and he didn’t look out of place as Everton won all three points at Portman Road.
After Iliman Ndiaye scored the first goal, Keane helped Sean Dyche’s team take the lead twice by putting in an amazing shot from a tight angle that surprised everyone watching.
Stelling said on talkSPORT live on Monday, October 21, at 6:08 a.m., “It was a goal out of the top drawer.” It was so great that any scorer would have been proud of it.
“That top corner is the only place it could have gone, and it was with his left foot,” agreed McCoist.
Michael Keane stands out as Everton beats Ipswich Town.
Given that the center-back has scored 15 goals at Goodison Park, including two this season, it shouldn’t be a surprise that he scores again.
At Portman Road, Keane scored a goal past Arijanet Muric, who was out of position to stop him. This showed that he has a good eye for goal.
Because the Toffees are so close to the relegation spots, beating the Tractor Boys and getting all three points was very important before their games against Fulham, Southampton, and West Ham.
After losing their first four games, Dyche and his team looked like they were in a lot of trouble. But after getting eight points from their last four games, it looked like things were looking up again.
Both ends of the field were important to the win, and Dyche can thank Keane for that. The defender will be looking to stay in the starting XI going forward.
