Before they move into their new venue next year, Everton might want to honor a legendary player from the club. From May 2019, when the Premier League season ends, the Blues will no longer play at Goodison Park.

Building is still going on at Bramley-Moore Dock for the new 52,888-seat stadium. It should be ready for Everton to start the 2025–26 season in August of that year. Potential new owners Friedkin Group could build a statue to honor a famous person from Goodison’s background, as has been done in the past.

There is already a statue outside of Goodison that honors Dixie Dean as one of the club’s all-time great players. Five years ago, a similar statue was revealed to honor Howard Kendall, Colin Harvey, and Alan Ball as The Holy Trinity. Could Everton do the same thing for another major club star before they move to Bramley-Moore Dock?

When Everton moves to a new stadium, Chris Beesley wrote that Neville Southall may deserve to have a statue built in his honor. A vote is being held by The Echo to find the Blues star that should be honored at their new home at Bramley-Moore Dock. Of course, it doesn’t have to be a figure. It could be any kind of honor.

It is possible to honor Kevin Campbell, who died in June at the age of 54, at Everton’s new stadium. Campbell scored 50 goals in 160 games for the Blues from 1999 to 2005. Fans can vote for the former striker in the latest ECHO poll.

When it comes to present players on the team, Seamus Coleman might be a good candidate for an award. After 424 games for the Blues, the leader of Everton will go down in history as a fan favorite at Goodison Park.

If Leighton Baines stays at full-back, he may also earn the honor. The same might be said about three great Everton players from the 1980s: Peter Reid, Kevin Sheedy, and Kevin Ratcliffe. They were key members of Kendall’s team that won titles in both England and Europe during a golden age.
