Everton
After the Everton takeover happened, Sean Dyche admitted that Dan Friedkin was right.
Although Dan Friedkin is getting closer to taking over at Everton, Sean Dyche has not yet talked to him.
An interview with Sky Sports on October 18 asked Dyche if the news that Friedkin would be coming to Goodison Park had made people happier. Dyche said that he hasn’t talked to Friedkin directly yet.
The Premier League hasn’t approved Friedkin’s takeover as the new majority partner yet, and it’s not clear what he will do about Dyche’s duty as manager.
Dyche stated, “Some of the noise changes because of the possibility of new owners, but we need to fix it more on the field.”
“I think everyone agrees that the club is going through a turnaround period right now. It hasn’t been easy.” As another takeover approaches, we don’t know what will happen next.
“This one looks like it has more weight, but I don’t know because I haven’t talked to them yet.”
At Everton, Sean Dyche needs to get along with Dan Friedkin.
If Friedkin’s takeover goes through and he is given the keys to Goodison Park, Dyche and Friedkin will definitely get to know each other.
But Dyche, whose deal ends in the summer of 2025, would want to make friends with Friedkin as soon as possible, especially since there is a lot of talk about what will happen next with him.
To see examples of both, look at Jose Mourinho’s time at Roma. Friedkin hasn’t been afraid to fire managers in the middle of the season or make big hires when he comes to a new club.
Some big names, like Mourinho and Maurizio Sarri, have already been mentioned as possible candidates to be the first manager to work at the new Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium [TBR Football, 12 October].
Keeping the club in the top flight is Dyche’s daily goal, and not many managers can do that as well as he can. Not sure what the future holds for Friedkin’s time in charge.
