A shocking new idea has been put forward that Alisson and Casemiro could be kicked off the Brazil team.
If a new plan is put forward, some of Brazil’s best football players, like Alisson and Casemiro, might not be able to play for their country’s team.
A radical idea for choosing the team could mean a huge change for the Brazilian national football team. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil made a big stir when he proposed a radical policy that would stop stars who live in Europe from wearing the famous yellow jersey. These stars include Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior and Endrick, Liverpool’s Alisson, and Manchester United’s Casemiro.
Lula said that local players should be given more chances to play for their country, which shocked many people in the football world. He said that Brazil doesn’t lack talented people because “there are no stars” playing abroad and the players in the national league are just as good as those in Europe’s top leagues.
Also, he said that the players playing abroad are not like “Garrincha or Romario,” calling them “a bunch of young players who are not yet stars.”
As Lula said in a recent interview, “there are good players in Brazil who are the same quality as those abroad.” “So [the national team should] give opportunities to those who are here.”
Botafogo players Luiz Henrique and Igor Jesus scored both of Brazil’s goals in their 2-1 win over Chile. This suggestion comes after the game. Reports say that Lula has talked about his idea with the head of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). He said that it would help identify and promote young football players from Brazil.
Because most of Brazil’s best players play in Europe, these events make it less clear what will happen with some of the country’s biggest stars on the world stage. In fact, only six of the 23-person group play club football in their own country, and between them, they have only earned 34 caps.
Lula is a big football fan and has always cheered for Corinthians. He doesn’t mind expressing his thoughts on sports; he has previously said bad things about the national team’s play.
Brazil is currently managed by Dorival Junior and is in fourth place in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualification table. They have only won four of their first nine games. The top six teams will directly go to the 2026 World Cup. The seventh-placed team, on the other hand, will have to compete in a play-off between teams from different confederations.
