Due to an administrative error, the football club requested the identical payment four times by mistake.

Following four inadvertent ticket payment requests by Liverpool FC, one supporter stated that he was forced to borrow money from family and acquaintances.

Following the purchase of tickets by John Patterson for the forthcoming Europa League match against LASK, an administrative error transpired. John discovered the following morning that he was unable to withdraw £448 from his bank account because the funds were in pending transactions.

The 58-year-old stated, “On November 6, I purchased four tickets for the Liverpool LASK game on November 30 at £28 each, for a total of £112. I retired to my bed and upon awakening the following morning, discovered that four additional payments totaling £112 were pending in the transactions that I had neglected to complete.

Without delay, John dialed his bank and was instructed to contact the club. Liverpool FC provided reassurance that the money would be returned to him within a few days and that the imminent transaction would not reach the club. John was unable to withdraw the funds from his pending transactions during this time, forcing him to rely on family and friends for assistance with food and utilities.

He stated, “For the past few days, I have been without any money, and you have no idea the amount of tension I have been under. “I feel as though family and friends have rescued me.”

John, who is afflicted with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and diabetes, stated, “In addition, I have a disability… “What effect has this stress had on my blood pressure over the past few days? It is unbearable to consider.”

John is a Liverpool FC fanatic to the extent that he takes the ferry back and forth from Northern Ireland in order to attend games. John, who has been an ardent supporter since the age of seven, concedes that the entire ordeal has caused him to reconsider his allegiance. “Now I’m unsure why I bothered to go; do I wish to return?” he remarked. “I am at a loss for words; the entire situation has placed me in an untenable position.”

He further stated: “I’ll eventually get over it but I don’t know if I’m going to go to that Europa game now.”

John has received the return of all four payments from his pending transactions less than ten days after the vexing ordeal commenced.

The ECHO attempted to contact Liverpool FC for comment but received no response.
