UNBELEIVABLE: ‘You won’t play’-Trent Alexander-Arnold discloses ground-breaking rules Liverpool boss Arne Slot has laid at Liverpool.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has disclosed how Liverpool is adjusting to the modifications implemented by their new head coach, Arne Slot.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has disclosed one of the regulations that Arne Slot has implemented at Liverpool since assuming the position. This summer, the Dutchman was appointed as the Reds’ inaugural head coach. He joined the club from Feyenoord as a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, who resigned after nine years as manager at Anfield.

After guiding Liverpool to victory in their inaugural two Premier League fixtures, against Brentford and Ipswich Town, Slot has had an impressive debut season.

However, he will encounter his most challenging challenge to date on Sunday, when the Reds travel to their acrimonious rivals Manchester United for their final game before the September international break.

Although Alexander-Arnold is out of contract next summer, he has started both of the Dutchman’s matches thus far, despite only returning for pre-season at the beginning of August in the wake of his performance for England at Euro 2024.

Nevertheless, the defender garnered attention following his response to being substituted in Liverpool’s victory over Brentford. Slot conversed with him in the dugout after his 73rd minute withdrawal, and he was visibly irritated, both on the bench and after the final chime.

Alexander-Arnold is anticipated to maintain his starting position against Manchester United at Old Trafford. And prior to the match, the 25-year-old has disclosed his thoughts on adapting to the modifications that Slot has implemented at Liverpool since his replacement.

“I believe we are exuding confidence,” he stated. “Clearly, we experienced significant changes during the summer, and a few of us were tardy in returning.”

“However, we are gradually adapting to the new style of play that the manager has envisioned for us and integrating into a new Liverpool.”

“So far, I believe it is proceeding smoothly.” There are numerous areas in which we can still progress, and I am confident that the manager and the players share this sentiment.

“We are concerned with maintaining momentum.” We are self-assured in our abilities and our approach to the game. We must maintain this momentum, as we have already achieved two victories and two exceptional games.

The Reds are showing a marked improvement in their defensive performance, which is in stark contrast to their record during Klopp’s final two campaigns in command, as they have opened the season with consecutive clean sheets.

Alexander-Arnold acknowledged that Slot has mandated that all of his players contribute defensively in order to be eligible to play for him, thereby emphasising that Liverpool’s defensive record must be the strongest in the league in order to maximise their chances of winning the Premier League this season.

“When asked about the Reds’ desire to defend and their forwards tracking back, he stated that that is one of the regulations that the manager implemented,” he stated to the club website. “If you fail to adhere to those regulations, you will be disqualified from participating; it is as straightforward as that.”

“It is not merely a matter of the defenders defending, while the attackers observe us defending.” This is a complete team effort.

“I believe that we are capable of slowing down the counter-attacks that we may have been exposed to, getting numbers behind us, blocking shots, and preventing them from generating any dangerous situations.” This is due to the labour ethic, which is required.

“I believe that the teams that have achieved success in the past, including ourselves, have demonstrated the ability to play football and be quite thrilling at times. However, it is the other end of the pitch that ultimately determines the outcome of the league title.”

“Typically, the team that concedes the fewest goals or the fewest significant opportunities will have a strong likelihood of winning the league.”
