Player admits he still has Man City transfer dream – But “everything has become easier” since City Group exit
FC Twente forward Manfred Ugalde has acknowledged that despite his unsuccessful attempt to play for the club, he continues to aspire to one day represent Manchester City.
The 21-year-old has been discussing his vocation with Voetbal International, according to remarks relayed by FC Twente Insite.
The youngster’s career thus far has been quite eventful, commencing with Saprissa in his country of origin Costa Rica and culminating in his acquisition by the City Football Group in 2020.
This resulted in his transfer to Belgian club Lommel, which attempted to establish him in Europe but was unsuccessful; he was loaned to Twente in 2021.
He quickly established himself at the Dutch club and began to perform admirably; in fact, in July of this year, they decided to spend €4 million to acquire him permanently.
Since then, he has been consistently impressive, accumulating three goals and three assists in twelve Eredivisie games and one goal and one assist in six Europa Conference League games this season.
Although he currently resides in the Netherlands and acknowledges that his circumstances have improved since joining Twente, that does not mean he has abandoned his ambitions to play for Manchester City.
“My agent called to inform me that he had several options available. Among these organizations was the City Group. What does that consist of? “He was asked,” he stated in reference to his entry into the City Group.
“The scouts had painted him a complete portrait of players who have the potential to develop within a network of clubs.” I was immediately persuaded. It was only natural that I aspire to ascend to the highest step. City of Manchester is Aguero’s employer.
“I was aware that the City Group attracts a large number of talented individuals annually, and while not all will succeed in the Premier League, each player will embark on their journey with the same aspiration,”
Since my arrival at FC Twente, “everything has become more straightforward.” The members of the staff, the supporters, and my colleagues have all shown me tremendous care since the day I arrived as a loan player. I am appreciative of all of them for that.”
“Alright, I understand the way it operates. City has an extensive roster of players from which to select. They may purchase whoever they desire. Haaland has already been placed in my location. Additionally, he is a pleasant striker. Eventually, it is possible that I could still join City inadvertently. However, I cannot be happier to be a part of FC Twente.”
