Trent Alexander-Arnold was not pleased with his substitution during Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Brentford. Reds manager Arne Slot has since expressed his opinion on the matter.

Arne Slot began his Liverpool tenure with a bang, but he remains adamant that the team has much more to prove.

The name of Dutchman Slot was chanted by a new Premier League record crowd of 60,107 at Anfield, where Luis Diaz and Mo Salah scored. The new manager has now secured two consecutive victories. However, Slot cautioned that they will be required to demonstrate greater performance against more formidable opponents in the upcoming weeks as they prepare to visit Manchester United next week.

Slot, Liverpool’s manager, stated, “The fans were enthusiastic about the team’s performance, as well as their dedication to the team’s work ethic.” I was pleased with what I observed; therefore, it is likely that the majority of fans are also pleased. Therefore, it was an exceptionally favourable day for us. We prevailed against Brentford and Ipswich once more.

“Two strong teams; however, I do not anticipate them to be among the top six in the forthcoming year. Therefore, we have a significant amount of ground to make up in the coming weeks and months.”The reception was comparable to that of all individuals in the vicinity of the training ground and employed by Liverpool.

“I think everyone would tell you the same, feels the warmth of this club and the appreciation of the club and we have to try and play in the style they expect.” Slot acknowledged that Trent Alexander-Arnold was dissatisfied with his substitution, but he maintained that it was necessary for his own well-being.‌

Slot added: “He did not appear to be particularly pleased after being removed.” I comprehend. Each participant desires to participate in a full 90 minutes. However, I am of the opinion that the players who were on the sideline from the outset were not particularly pleased with the decision I made.

“However, Trent returned from the national team, where he played extensively at the outset of the tournament before declining to participate.” It has been several weeks since he last played, and this is only his third game. We must ensure his well-being, as we require him for the duration of the season, not merely the initial two games.‌

Liverpool’s captain, Virgil van Dijk, stated, “It is an exciting time, and we have a lot of potential to improve and achieve our goals.” Let us ensure that this season is exceptional, and we will then await the outcome.

Thomas Frank, the Brentford manager, lauded his team and maintained that they were competitive until the score reached 2-0. However, he acknowledged that he will be content when the transfer window closes, as Ivan Toney was once again excluded from the squad.

This week, it is anticipated that Toney will relocate to the Saudi Pro League. According to Frank: “I am always happy when the window is shut and then we don’t have to talk about ifs and buts and maybes.”
