People say that Joao Cancelo went on a violent rant against his old team, Manchester City, in which he called manager Pep Guardiola a liar.

The Portuguese player played for Bayern Munich in the second half of last year. He is now on loan at Barcelona for the rest of the season.

Some news sources said that Guardiola didn’t like how Cancelo reacted when he wasn’t playing for City while they won the title.

On the other hand, the 29-year-old told the Portuguese newspaper A Bola that Guardiola was wrong.

He said, “Lies were told!” Nathan Ake or Rico Lewis are the ones you can ask if I’ve ever been a bad friend. The boss thinks I’m better or worse than them, but I don’t agree.

I stayed because it’s not true. I believe they were being rude because I was a very important person for them while I was there.

“I always kept my word to the club and the fans.” I always did my best. Someone snuck into my house and beat me. I had to play Arsenal at the Emirates the next day.

“Don’t forget these things: I left my wife and daughter home alone and scared.” No one will remember anything else because Mr. Guardiola talks more intelligently than I do and I’d rather not say anything else.

It was Cancelo who said that he “wishes” everything goes well at Man City. He also said that leaving on loan in January 2023 was the right thing to do, even though he missed out on the Treble.

“I was loaned to Bayern Munich last year because of certain things,” he stated. I don’t feel bad about what I did, even if City won the Champions League. When I went to a club that really wanted me, even before I signed a new deal, I think I made the right choice. During the six months I was at that club, I learned a lot.

He went on loan to Barcelona after his time with Bayern Munich. He is getting less money there because the club is having money problems.

When Guardiola let Cancelo go on loan last season, he said, “I wish him the best.” He played a big role in both of their Premier League wins.

“Since the World Cup, we’ve played in different ways, and I’ve given other players more time.”

Everyone has their own style. We all decided that he should go to Munich because he works hard and loves to play. He needs to play to be happy.

He will return to Man City even though it looks like he will leave this summer.

Mayor of Barcelona Joan Laporta said that the team wants to keep Cancelo for next season, but they may not be able to because they are having money issues.
