Duke Basketball Lands Monumental Commitment as 5-Star SG Chooses Blue Devils Over Kentucky, Alabama

Duke basketball has secured another massive recruiting win, as five-star shooting guard Jayson Robinson announced his commitment to the Blue Devils over Kentucky and Alabama.

The 6’5″ elite scorer from Oak Hill Academy (VA) is ranked among the top 10 players in the 2025 class and gives Jon Scheyer his third five-star pledge in the cycle, joining Cooper Flagg (No. 1 overall) and Khaman Maluach (No. 3 overall).

Why Duke?

Robinson cited Duke’s development of guards (like Tyrese Proctor and Jared McCain) and the chance to compete for a national title as key factors.

His versatility as a three-level scorer and lockdown defender makes him an ideal fit in Scheyer’s system.

What This Means for Duke

With Robinson’s commitment, Duke’s 2025 class now stands as the undisputed No. 1 group in the nation. The Blue Devils are also heavily in the mix for other elite recruits, including Cameron Boozer and Darryn Peterson, as they build what could be a historically dominant roster.

Kentucky and Alabama put up strong pushes, but Duke’s ability to land yet another top-tier prospect reinforces its status as a premier destination for elite talent.

Next Up:Will Scheyer close on another big name? The Blue Devils aren’t done yet. 🏀🔥
