“I wrote the chorus to ‘Skywalkers’ somewhere over the Atlantic,” Reynolds recalled. “There’s something about the hum of a plane engine and the feeling of crossing time zones that makes creativity hit differently.”

The band’s 2025 album Altitude Dreams was inspired entirely by their time in the air — both physically and metaphorically. Songs like “Terminal B” and “Echoes in the Cabin” explore themes of movement, longing, and the in-between moments of modern life.


Surprises at 30,000 Feet

Known for their spontaneous spirit, the band has surprised fans with impromptu acoustic sets at airports, singing by departure gates or in airline lounges. A viral moment in April 2025 featured Reynolds serenading passengers during a delayed flight in Tokyo, with cabin crew harmonizing on backup vocals.

Airlines have since leaned into these moments, with some now offering “Mystery Music Moments” on select Imagine Dragons flight paths — a marketing campaign that has earned praise for turning delays into experiences.


Flying Into the Future
